Congressmember Salud Carbajal is right. One key element of the Affordable Care Act that Trump and his administration can really impact is the federal cost-sharing subsidies. Insurance companies rely on them to keep health-insurance premiums lower for many families. Without these monthly payments, premiums will rise, and many Americans who have insurance through Obamacare will drop their coverage, leaving thousands without access to quality, affordable, and reliable health care.
While Trump routinely exaggerates and lies about many things, "killing Obamacare" is something he may be able to accomplish, unless Rep. Carbajal and others can apply enough pressure to get the administration to continue these needed subsidies. Please support those in the health-care community, patient advocates, insurance providers, and others in this effort.
